Business Administration, Associate in Science:
Designed for students who wish to transfer to a four-year institution. Offers students a broad introduction to business administration and provides the background necessary to move into baccalaureate majors in such fields as accounting, management, economics and computer information systems.
Business Administration, Associate in Applied Science:
Designed for students who wish to enter careers in management, real estate, sales, marketing, accounting and computer information systems upon completion of their degree. The course of study emphasizes those skills necessary for success in entry-level supervision and management. Computer Information Systems, Associate in Science:
This degree emphasizes the business applications of the computer. Graduates will have the theoretical, conceptual and practical ackground to use computers in business settings. Designed to facilitate transfer to Bachelor of Science programs. The program responds to the increased demand from area business and industry for trained computer professionals.
General Studies, Associate in Science :
Designed for students who are undecided about a career and who wish to explore different fields. The option can lead to various baccalaureate degrees. Students take basic general education courses which they can use in transferring to a four-year institution or use should they decide on a career area and change to an AAS degree.
History,
Associate in Arts:
A degree in History provides a well-rounded
liberal arts background to students seeking to continue their
education in law, business administration, etc. Careers directly
related to history include teaching, museum work and research.
Students seeking a baccalaureate degree in history from a
four-year institution should obtain an A.A. degree in liberal
arts. It is recommended that not more than 15 credits be
earned in history at ACCC to avoid any possible transfer
problems. Most four-year institutions prefer that courses
in a student's major be taken there.
Humanities, Associate in Arts:
Designed to give students an opportunity to explore various disciplines before selecting a specific career area. This option, which can be earned part-time, can lead to a baccalaureate degree in history, literature, philosophy, religion or the arts. With the appropriate baccalaureate or master's degree, an A.A. degree with a humanities option can lead to careers in education, the arts, communications, law and many ohter non-technical fields. This option can be earned full - or part-time.
Liberal Arts, Associate in Arts:
Prepares students for transfer to four-year liberal arts programs. In the core general education courses, emphasis is on major fields of academic inquiry, their approaches to creating knowledge, important developments in these fields, and the implications that these have for decision-making in our private and public lives. Students build on this foundation and prepare for continued study in a major by completing nine (9) additional credits in an area of concentration. Students may choose options in: child development/ child care, education, history, humanities, literature, music, pre law, psychology, social science, social work, sociology or studio art.
Literature, Associate in Arts:
Designed for students who wish to major in
English and/or linguistics. A broad base in the Humanities
prepares students for transfer to a four-year college for
the baccalaureate degree. Careers that English studies lead
to include: Advertising, broadcasting, journalism, law, teaching
and writing. This option can be earned part-time.
Office Systems Technology, Associate in Applied Science:
Skilled office personnel are vital to the smooth, efficient running of a business. Without them, corporations, government and thousands of public and private organizations would come to a standstill. Busy executives rely on office professionals to manage offices.
Administrative office careers offer a variety of exciting opportunities. A graduate can become an administrative assistant, correspondence secretary or word processing specialist. The program focuses on typing, speedwriting, word processing, computer applications and management skills. This degree may be earned full- or part-time.
Psychology, Associate in Arts:
Psychology offers a scientific framework for
understanding the how and why of human behavior. Understanding
the thinking, actions and motives of self and others has
direct vocational use in many career areas, such as education,
social work, and allied health. A knowledge of psychology
is required in many professional and parapro-fessional fields.
The program offers a range of courses designed to meet the
varied interests and needs of undergraduate students. This
option can be earned part-time.
Social Science, Associate in Arts:
Designed to help students explore the various disciplines before selecting a specific career area. The option can lead to a baccalaureate degree in psychology, sociology, social work, economics, law or other fields related to the study of social institutions. Although jobs in the social sciences are available for those with a bachelor's degree, many positions do require a master's degree. An A.A. degree in social science can lead to work in law, social work, education, business, government, psychology, or into almost any non-technical field.

This program is for students wishing to transfer to four-year colleges offering Bachelor`s degrees in business or business education. It contains a broad range of business-related courses plus the general education studies required for transfer to most four-year schools. Upon graduation from this program, and subsequent completion of a four-year degree, students will be prepared to begin careers in financial management, marketing, personnel management, sales, operations management, government, and other business-related activities with opportunities for promotion to management positions. Students who wish to become business education teachers upon completion of a four-year degree should also begin in this program.

General Business, Associate in Applied
Science:
The General Business program equips graduates
with specific technical skills as well as a general overview
of the field of business. Recent General Business graduates
have obtained entry-level positions in retail firms, supermarket
chains, manufacturing firms, government agencies and numerous
types of small business firms. Several areas of concentration
are available: accounting, banking, management, marketing,
office systems, and microcomputer applications. An international
business emphasis with practical international business applications
is another option. Faculty assist students in selecting electives
in their career field, and cooperative education opportunities
are available.
Humanities and Social Science, Associate in Arts:
The Humanities and Social Science option of
the Liberal Arts and Sciences program prepares students to
transfer into the junior year of a baccalaureate degree program
in such fields as English, history, humanities, journalism,
languages, law, literature, psychology, sociology, and education.
With the aid of college advising and counseling services,
individuals planning careers in these fields should select
elective subjects which best meet their educational needs.

Business Administration Associate of Science Degree:
The Associate of Science degree in Business Administration prepares students to transfer into the junior year at four-year colleges or universities. It also prepares them for many entry-level positions. This program includes required courses in accounting, business administration, business law, economics, and other business-related courses, as well as general education courses and free electives. The courses in the Business Administration degree program are sequenced to conform to the freshman and sophomore year course patterns at four-year colleges and universities.
Liberal Arts Associate of Arts Degree:
The liberal arts degree program offers students a wide variety of courses to choose from and, at the same time, prepares the student to transfer into the junior year of study at a four-year college. The program is similar to other general Liberal Arts programs in the first two years at such colleges.
Liberal Arts is the study of basic knowledge and the development of one's ability to think clearly. The Business Management Degree is developed for the student who wishes to acquire additional management skills and is planning a program in preparation for a business career of his/her choice. Flexibility in course selection enables the student to achieve his/her specific educational, career, and personal goals. This program has been designed as a career program to prepare students for first-line and/or mid-management positions.
The specific objectives of this program are that the graduate must be able to demonstrate:
• Understanding of current management theories and principles used in the successful management of organizations.

This program is for adults who have been away from secondary school at least four years. It provides an opportunity to explore different areas of study.
The A.S. degree is awarded upon satisfactory completion of no fewer than 62 credit hours of work selected from the various disciplines at the College including a minimum of six to eight credit hours each from these areas: business and public policy; communication; humanities; mathematics and science; and social science.
The specific objectives of this program are that the graduate must be able to demonstrate:

Information Systems Technology Associate in Science Degree:
Information systems technology changes are occurring across the US and the world. With these advances have also come changes in the ways that information can be accessed and shared. These have precipitated the need for well-educated IS professionals. This curriculum has been designed to meet the needs of current IS professionals as well as to prepare future IS professionals.
Information systems positions are becoming more diversified. Students who complete the curriculum will have a strong foundation in interpersonal and communication skills, problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, and ethics.

The Database Specialist Certificate program is designed to meet the needs of those students who have decided to specialize in database management. Database specialists should possess the skills necessary to design databases. They should be knowledgeable about redundancy and its problems. Additionally, they should be able to write Visual Basic programs that interface with the databases. They need to possess good communication skills.
The specific objectives of this program are that the graduate must be able to demonstrate:

Office Professional Certificate :
The Office Professional Certificate program upgrades a student's skills necessary to survive in the ever-changing office. The program provides a strong background in technology courses using up-to-date software. Prior to entering the program, students must have successfully completed English composition and keyboarding. Challenge exams are available for keyboarding. A CLEP exam may be taken for English.
The specific objectives of this program are that the graduate must be able to demonstrate:

• Professional communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively using e-mail and the Internet.
• Ability to use beginning/advanced features of MS Word.

This certificate is designed for people who need to update their computer application skills. Upon completion of this certificate, the student may apply these credits toward the Business A.A.S. degree or the Administrative Support/Information Processing A.A.S. degree.

The Web Master Certificate program is designed to meet the needs of those students who have decided to specialize in web development. These students should be able to communicate well with others. They should be knowledgeable about current innovations and developments within the area of web programming and design.
The specific objectives of this program are that the graduate must be able to demonstrate:
